Building NEW Theatre for All Ages

I'm Erin Lekovic, a Tampa-based

playwright and educator.

The Bricks that build my kind of theatre

WRITING NEW PLAYS

We need more unique, personal, and immediate stories onstage now. More of your words, more of my words, more of our words.

But also, what defines a “stage?” What do you want your theatre, your audience to look like?

Every project I create or co-create is different. What can we make together?

COLLABORATING WITH COMMUNITY

Let’s make plays that showcase how amazing, complicated, and necessary we are.

Creating together, we can make something joyful to share with the people that matter to us. We can make theatre that celebrates, challenges, and unites.

Check out a recent theatre-building experience I led with Metropolitan Ministries and Straz Center for the Performing Arts, profiled on Axios Tampa Bay.

LEARNING THROUGH TEACHING

My teaching resume is eclectic and I’m really proud of it!

I’ve devised choreography with kindergarten students, given high-school students notes on their screenplays, directed college-student actors in their original narrative podcasts, improvised scenes with MBA candidates.

For almost a decade, I worked as a content producer—writing and producing e-learning games and digital media for various corporations, universities, and organizations.

These experiences have made me so much better at what I do.
